It’s no secret that Italy’s known for their wine. Paired with some delicious homemade pizza or pasta, Italian wine goes perfectly with any comfort food. You might have heard that Tuscany, Italy – with its lush landscapes and beautiful vineyards – is one of the best spots for wine making. One of the jewels of the Tuscan region is the 800-year old tradition of Chianti wine making!
Chianti is a lot like champagne, in that it has to be made in the specific “Chianti” region of Tuscany. It also has to be made with at least 80% Sangiovese grapes, and it’s sometimes blended with a nice Merlot or Cabernet. It’s got a unique, earthy taste – a nice dry wine with just a hint of fruity texture!
Chianti pairs best with classic Italian dishes –
- Pasta with Marinara Sauce
- Chicken Parmigiano
- Spaghetti Carbonara
- Sausage Pizza
If you’re interested in pairing Chianti with some great eats, come over to CG this Thursday, March 14th for our Pasta Making Chianti Class!
